The Junior Premier debating team of Catherine Ramoo, Samantha Samaniego and Aira Ngarimu won five out of six debates to reach the Semi Final of the debating competition. The team opposed the moot ‘That we should farm endangered species’. The girls confidently presented their arguments and rebutted with great enthusiasm. It was a close debate but unfortunately they were narrowly defeated by St Oran’s College. The girls can be proud of their accomplishments throughout the debating season. A highlight of their season was winning the Impromptu Cup debating tournament held on 7 August. Although this was the last debate of the year, there is a lot of talent in this team which bodes well for the years ahead.
