He Pānui nā Te Tari Māori


What a huge couple of weeks for Te Reo Māori students!  Our Kura Tuākana (seniors) and Year 12 Drama students headed to Waiora: Te Ūkaipō at Hannah Playhouse, a play that made us think, cry and laugh out loud.  Five of the tuākana met the Minister for Women on Tuesday morning, at a Suffrage 125 event.  Ākonga from Tau 9 & 10 enjoyed trips to Space Place, leaving with a greater understanding of the place of Matariki in Aotearoa today.  And, as noted in last week’s pānui, Haylee Van Herpen-Jacobs of Kāi Tahu represented our kura at Te Whakataetae ā-Rohe mō Ngā Manu Kōrero, taking out first place in the Tā Turi Kara section (Junior English) with a fantastic speech about perfection … he tino toki koe Haylee.  Heoi, nei rā ngā mihi o Matariki ki a kāutau
