Congratulations to Blueprint who have made it into the Final of the Young Enterprise Dragon’s Den on June 20th. The group were placed in the top 8 out of over 100 teams from Wellington, the Hutt Valley and the Wairarapa.
Congratulations to our four Young Enterprise teams, Be You Tiful Bagels, Blueprint, Calico and Co. and Wahine Toa, who all gave impressively professional presentations to the judging panel at Dragons’ Den. You will be hearing a lot more about their innovative products (delicious new flavoured bagels, and environmentally inspired children’s story and colouring book based on Maori culture, a Nadia Lim designed calico shopping bag and a personal crisis security device) in the coming months!

The Board of Trustees has two parents interested in the vacant Parent Representative position on the Board. Both of these parents have skills and attributes that are a good fit for our Board of Trustees.
We can have an election which would result in one of the parents being elected to the Board of Trustees. The alternative is that the Board can discuss changing its constitution to allow six Parent Representatives to represent the community. This would be a permanent change unless revoked. Permission also needs to be sought from the Proprietor, and the Board of Trustees will do this.
If the Proprietor does not agree with this, the Board is required to proceed to an election for one position. Similarly, if 10% or more of eligible voters expresses their opposition to this proposal at the upcoming Board meeting, an election will be required.
We hereby notify our parent community that we intend to discuss this matter at our Board of Trustees meeting which is to be held next Tuesday the 16th May at 6pm in the college Staffroom. If any parents are interested in being part of this discussion, please come along to this meeting.
