BYOD – Devices for Year 9

2016 saw the implementation of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) with Year 9 students bringing their own personal device to school. The success to date of this initiative is evident when you see how confident, curious and engaged students are in the classroom with their devices. In 2017 both Year 9 and Year 10 students are required to bring their own device to school.

Responsible Student User Guide

  • Students must ensure they charge their device each night/morning so that it is fully charged for the day’s use at school.
  • Many devices look the same/similar so it is recommended to name or identify the device in some way. Please also keep a record of the serial number and make and model at home.
  • If a student’s device is defective, and the student wishes to use a Chromebook from the Library, than an email or letter from parents/caregivers to the Form Teacher is required, explaining what the problem is and when the device is likely to be available again
  • Note that senior students may require more sophisticated hardware and software, and a laptop may be more appropriate.
