COME JOIN US… We are eager to grow our committee and would love new members. We meet the first Tuesday of each month and would welcome anyone keen to join the crew. Our next meeting is on Tuesday 1st May in the staffroom at 7pm.
HELP US… Let us know if you are able to help with our events, this could be through baking, helping set up or pack down, or just giving a couple of hours to help out.
THANK YOU… Your support of the PTFA last year enabled the College to purchase;
classroom blinds & gym window film,
classroom projectors, and to upgrade the amp & speakers in the AV room, electronic piano for assemblies in the gymnasium,
6 wall screen TV’s for the school notices to be shown around the school
The engraved Mercy values in the Front foyer.
We have also set money aside from last year’s auction to be used towards the outfitting of the Modern Learning Environments when the new block of classrooms is built.
This year, funds raised will be used by the College to purchase additional chromebooks, sports equipment for break times and supporting other initiatives within the school such as the redecoration of the year 13 common room and a Student Council mural.
LION FOUNDATION We would like to once again thank the Lion Foundation for their grant to the College last year. It enabled the purchase of outdoor seating. The tables are a huge hit and have become an area where the students gather before and during school.
HILLS ANGELS Thank you to those families that have provided meals for the PTFA freezer. Please let us know if you would also like to support those in times of need through our ‘Hills Angels’ initiative. Contact us on email@example.com if you are able to assist by providing a meal for the freezer.
SECOND HAND UNIFORM SHOP As a service to our school community, the PTFA have set up a second-hand uniform shop. Our goal is to assist families by providing access to reasonably priced second-hand garments. All money raised will go directly back to the school as part of the PTFA fundraising efforts
We would love your donations of uniform items, including shoes that you have outgrown or no longer need. We would also be happy to sell old junior maths calculators. If you have any clean and tidy items to donate, we ask that you drop them to the school office. Anyone wishing to purchase items please email Marie: firstname.lastname@example.org
New Treasurer needed: Our fantastic Treasurer is moving on now that her daughter has left the school. If you are able to assist the PTFA in this capacity please let us know urgently at; St.email@example.com
Any parents/friends or family interested in participating on the committee, or wanting to meet us to discover what we do are welcome to come along. We are always keen to hear new ideas and to receive feedback to help us do the best we can for the students.
Draft PTFA Event Calendar 2018
Each year the PTFA has two goals. Firstly, to raise money for the school and secondly, to provide opportunities for families and friends of the school to gather as a community.
We are finalising dates for our significant events over the next month and will let you know once the dates are set.

How can you help the PTFA to help the school?
We are looking for an inspirational speaker for our Breakfast at Parliament this year – let us know if you have a contact that might be of use.
We are developing a database of contacts that might be useful for sponsorship and donations for our raffles and auctions. If you think you can help or know someone that might fit into this category, please contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Join the PTFA as a committee member, or a helper (to be called upon to help with events).
Support our Hill’s Angels initiative. This is a small group of people that provide meals to be distributed to School families in times of challenge. It’s a way of providing support and care to our community.
Come along to fundraising events and bring your friends!
We look forward to opportunities to meet with you at events during the year. We will do our very best to ensure we keep you up to date with what we have planned. Upcoming events and information can be found on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/SMC.Wgtn.PTFA/ or on the school website. Please make sure to ‘Like’ our page.
