This year Kapa Haka has two new tutors, Ana Sciascia and Arihana Hakiwai, both of whom have extensive experience in Kapa Haka. Together with Leila Goddard they have been planning out a new direction for Kapa Haka for St Mary’s College.
As part of this new direction, the group will initially focus on building enthusiasm, a sense of belonging and commitment, and developing our senior student leaders. Regular practices will be at school during lunchtime on Tuesdays,12.40- 1.25pm.
There is a small group of whanau supporting our kapa haka, however we welcome more. If you, or someone in your whanau, would like to help with organising and supporting events(eg nohu later in the year, transport etc..) or if you have any skills (eg costumes, poi making etc..),please feel free to contact Ms Donne Sklenars or Ms Charlotte Meyer.
