Arrival in NZ

When you arrive at Wellington airport you will be met by your Host Family. 

Our Homestay Manager will give students an orientation to Wellington and customs of New Zealand. A handbook is also given. Uniform is arranged at this time.

On arrival at College students are met and given an orientation programme which includes:

  • Tour of school

  • Expectations of school

  • Meet other students

  • Buddy arranged with student in year group

  • Assessment of English

  • Individual timetable given

Student meets regularly with the ESOL Teacher, who monitors their academic progress and welfare in College. Each student will have an individual timetable.

The Homestay Manager works with students and Homestay Families. She is available to meet students in the College whenever they wish to see her.

The College pastoral care programme incorporates Guidance Counsellor, Dean of each year level, Form Teachers and Subject Teachers, all of whom take an interest in the welfare of each student. The progress of each International Student is monitored and every assistance given to encourage learning.
